Have Your Say- HB 238

Child Care Advocacy Opportunity

There is a hearing scheduled on Thursday, January 19th at 3:00 pm with the House and Human Services Committee for House Bill 238. This bill proposes to increase the sliding fee scale for the Best Beginnings Child Care Scholarship to 85% of the state median income, and copays would not exceed 7% of a family’s monthly income. (Bill language has been attached).  House Bill 238 would lower families’ child care costs and expand availability for child care by expanding the Best Beginnings Scholarship Program, going a long way toward making child care more affordable and accessible for Montana families.
