You have likely heard that there is a severe shortage in child care, and how expensive it is for families. As Montana only meets about 43% of the estimated demand for child care and the average family with young children spend around $15,274 per child, per year, families need support in new ways!
“[The Gap Scholarship] provides an opportunity for us to be more present with our child while she is home, and know she’s safe… being taken care of while we’re working” -Gap Scholarship Recipient
An Investment to The Gap Scholarship Helps Parents Like Jessica…
With support from foundations and donors, Child Care Connections launched the Gap Child Care Scholarship program in August 2022. This innovative program removes barriers to child care, by helping families cover the cost of child care through flexible scholarships. In addition, wraparound supports ensure that local families have the tools to continue on a successful path forward including employment sustainability. To date, this program has supported 87 families and 113 children to access child care in Park and Gallatin Counties. Your support will help us expand this opportunity to more working families who contribute to Montana’s economy!
“After receiving the Gap Scholarship I feel thankful! Thankful that this program is available for people in this county. Thankful that it is there to help reduce some of the financial stress felt by many hard working families!” -Gap Scholarship Recipient
