Child Care Referral Program
Join the Child Care Referral Program to let families know about your child care program!
Our Child Care Referral Program connects legally operating Child Care Providers with families in need of care. To participate in this program, providers must opt-in by completing the Provider Information Form (PIF). Once you are registered with this program, you can share when you have openings, and update your rates using our vacancy update, and rate update forms. When you information is current, we’ll connect families seeking care with your program.

Quality Programming
Research shows that quality early childhood care leads to increased economic and academic success not only for the children in care, but for the whole community. While there is no single definition for quality in child care, there are some overall elements of child care that are identified as critical to the well-being of children. These include health, safety and good hygiene, good nutrition, a well-maintained environment set up for children, an adequate number of staff, and more!

The STARS to Quality Program offers providers advanced training, technical support, and on-site coaching at no cost.
The Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) offers guidance on serving nutritional meals and reimbursements for meals served.
Providers who choose to accept the Best Beginnings Child Care Scholarship improve access to quality care for low-income families.

Statewide registries have been adopted throughout the country to help improve the quality of early care by tracking trainings and verified professional achievements. The Montana Early Childhood Project oversees ours.
Best Beginnings Scholarship
Providers can manage Best Beginnings Child Care Scholarship claims and more through the Best Beginnings Provider Portal. Access program agreement documents and online invoicing here.
