Gap Scholarship Program

 An Innovative Program for Montana Families

Child care is expensive. Costing more than in-state college tuition, on average, child care takes up around 25% of a household’s annual income in Montana. More than ever, families need support in new ways.

With support from foundations and donors*, Child Care Connections’ Gap Child Care Scholarship is an innovative program taking down the barriers to child care. Helping families cover the cost of child care, this program offers wraparound support to ensure that local families have the tools to continue on a successful path forward.

Does your family need help paying for child care?

The Gap Child Care Scholarship program offsets the cost of child care, helping families cover child care expenses including tuition and fees. Families can apply for up to $2,500 per calendar year for assistance. In addition, recipients will have the opportunity to meet with CCC’s Family Engagement Coordinator to navigate additional resources and supports in their community.

You might qualify if: 
  • Your child is between the ages of 0-5 (entering kindergarten)
  • You don’t qualify for the Best Beginnings Child Care Scholarship
  • You qualify for the Best Beginnings Child Care Scholarship but don’t have access to licensed child care
  • You have an annual household income of less than $131,000 per year (150% or less of the State Median Income)
  • Utilize licensed or legally operating child care

¿Su familia necesita ayuda para pagar el cuidado de niños?

El programa de becas Gap compensa el costo del cuidado infantil, ayudando a las familias a cubrir los gastos del cuidado infantil, incluidas la matrícula y las tarifas. Las familias pueden solicitar hasta $2,500 por año para recibir asistencia. Además, los beneficiarios tendrán la oportunidad de reunirse con el Coordinador de participación familiar de CCC para navegar por recursos y apoyos adicionales en su comunidad.

 

Podría calificar si su familia
  • Su hijo tiene entre 0 y 5 años (ingresando al Kindergarten)
  • No califica para la Beca Best Beginnings 
  • Califica para la Beca Best Beginnings  pero no tiene accesso al cuidado infantil con licencia
  • Tiene ingresos de menos $131,000 por año
  • Usa un programa de cuidado infantil que opera legalmente
