Early childhood professionals are required to have a background check completed prior to working with children. This ensures the full transparency of caregivers and maintains a safe environment for children.

Fingerprinting
How do I get fingerprinted?
Child care providers can schedule an appointment to be fingerprinted at our Bozeman or Helena office below. Walk-ins are not accommodated at this time. Be sure to bring the following items with you to your appointment: Valid government-issued ID- examples: driver’s license, passport, etc.; Minors (under 18 years old) must have a completed consent form, click HERE.
UPDATES: ECSB is currently covering the $30 fee for child care staff, volunteers, and household members. If you have lived in any of the following states in the last five (5) years you may receive a letter asking to have additional ink fingerprinting done: AL, AZ, CA, DE, MS, NV, SD, TX, UT, WI
Fingerprinting Hours are by appointment only:
Bozeman Office: Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 8 am – 2 pm
Helena Office: Tuesdays and Fridays from 10 am – 2 pm
Please call (406) 587-7786 to make an appointment outside of our normal fingerprinting hours.
